Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
This update on his health follows the sports world had expressed its support for the star in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
