Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Uncovered
According to the official announcement, "An unusual encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of forbidden rituals and monstrous transformations resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden group.
The mission centers on "strange tests and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Material
Players who finish the adventure will receive an special katana together with multiple objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

- Mikasa attire for Naoe

Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series previously showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
