Barça Ready for First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barça organized an open training session at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
