John Stones Moved forward when in possession, a familiar role in the past. On occasion lacked urgency on the ball with the experiment abandoned at half-time. Six

Dan Burn Always dangerous at set pieces, as always, could serve as a replacement to his teammate at the back instead of paired with him. One wayward ball later in the match came close to the first goal from the visitors. Six

Nico O’Reilly One more composed showing by the youngster after his debut against another side. Saka failed to make the most of a gorgeous flick over the opposing backline. The role is firmly his so soon. Seven

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning for his country. Somewhat loose in possession however his whipped corners caused problems. An effective pace-controller available to the coach to have versus sides that sit back. Cautioned for a rash foul. 6/10

Declan Rice Deliveries on corner kicks and free kicks created chances. Had license to roam in left midfield yet found himself in an offside position when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Given a well-earned break around the 60-minute point. 6

The star midfielder Functioned in a forward role out wide while also contributed with the hard yards. Showed glimpses of brilliance but mishit an effort wide. Substituted in the closing stages for a teammate, his competition, following a yellow card. 7/10

The winger Was presented with England’s best chance in the opening period, his shot excellently kept out from the Albanian keeper. With a teammate staying deep, he had to provide width down the right side but his crosses from the touchline were hit and miss. Replaced with 15 to go. 6

Harry Kane The difference-maker with his two more strikes in an England shirt. The first a typical poacher’s finish while the second a superb finish with his head after peeling away away from the opposition. Now 32, he continues to improve and the side are strong contenders next summer with him up top. Eight

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to get into the game out wide. Had a presentable chance after being played in by the midfielder but the keeper denied him. His replacement had a greater influence in his place. 5
